Common Questions

What are your office hours?

iMan Therapy offers online therapy sessions via secure telehealth video. Session availability varies and is discussed at the time of scheduling. To find out about current availability, please reach out directly by phone at (408) 345-5293 or book a free 15-minute consultation through the website. All sessions are conducted remotely — there is no physical office to visit. This makes scheduling more flexible than traditional in-person therapy.

What are your fees?

iMan Therapy is a private pay practice. Session fees are provided during the free initial consultation, as rates are subject to change. Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before services begin. iMan Therapy provides this estimate to all self-pay clients. You can find more information on the Good Faith Estimate page. If cost is a concern, please bring it up during your consultation — it's a normal part of the conversation.

Do you take insurance?

iMan Therapy is currently an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Sessions are private pay. However, many insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits that may reimburse a portion of session costs. iMan Therapy provides a superbill — a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

To understand your out-of-network benefits, contact your insurance company and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible?
  • What percentage will be reimbursed?
  • Do I need pre-authorization?

How does a Superbill work?

A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the date of service, the type of service (with a procedure code), a diagnosis code, and the fee paid. It is provided by iMan Therapy after each session upon request. You submit this document to your insurance company's out-of-network claims department. Your insurer then determines what portion, if any, they will reimburse based on your specific plan and deductible. The reimbursement process and timeline vary by insurance company. iMan Therapy is not able to guarantee reimbursement or communicate with insurers on your behalf.

How long will treatment take?

The length of therapy varies widely from person to person, and there is no predetermined answer. Some clients come with a specific, focused concern and benefit from a shorter course of therapy — perhaps 8–16 sessions. Others find ongoing support valuable as they work through more complex issues. The timeline is something Kamal revisits with clients throughout the process. You won't be kept in therapy indefinitely — but you also won't be rushed. Progress and next steps are discussed collaboratively, and you remain in control of that decision.

What should I prepare for my first session?

You don't need to prepare anything specific. What is most helpful is simply arriving with some sense of what brought you in — even if it's vague. You don't need to have your thoughts perfectly organized.

Practically speaking:

  • Find a private, quiet space where you won't be overheard or interrupted
  • Use a device with a reliable internet connection and a functioning camera
  • Have the telehealth link from your confirmation email ready
  • Wear headphones if possible for better audio quality and privacy

The first session is primarily a conversation. There is no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

What forms of payment do you accept?

iMan Therapy accepts major credit and debit cards through a secure payment platform. Payment is collected at or before the time of service. Specific payment methods are confirmed during onboarding.

What if I have a mental health emergency?

Therapy at iMan Therapy is not a crisis or emergency service. Kamal is not available 24/7 for crisis support. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.
